On social media, fans suspect that there is more to it, sometimes that there were disagreements with the team.
Uli Maurer wants to put a stop to this very quickly.

These are automatisms that simply come.
From my point of view this is total nonsense, ”emphasizes the veteran.
He could only speak for himself, but he also had enough experience to judge how the team felt towards the coach.

For Maurer, firing Kink was a new experience.
In his second professional season at SCR (2003/2004) Peter Gailer had to vacate his post.
“Back then, that was for financial reasons,” recalls Maurer.
Now the first for him with a sporting background followed.
Had it been up to Maurer, Kink would have stayed.
He makes it clear that he accepts the judgment of the club's management, is happy not to have to make such decisions and will certainly give everything on the ice for the successor.
“But I was in the DEL for 14 years.
We always solved it internally as a team.
This time I would have liked to have done it again.
Because we as a team are responsible. ”In addition, in January 2020 the SCR had already found itself in a similar situation.
“I've had the problems we have now on every team.
I think that with a little more patience and discussion, it could have been solved differently. ”Likewise, the 36-year-old doesn't just want to dump the point of stagnating development from the coach:“ It certainly needs guidance and tips.
But in the end everyone is responsible for their own development. "
Maurer is not a man of empty phrases, not one who allows other reasons - small squad, Corona, many injured - to count for the sporting situation.
“This is just a season of chaos.
Certainly not everything went well, some things could have been done differently.
But we just played games that were brutally shit. ”His aim is to have at least a chance of victory in every game.
“But we didn't have some of them.” He blames himself and his team-mates for this, not the coach.

Now Kink is no longer a coach and his successor has already been found.
Ron Chyzowski - father of SCR actor Christopher and former coach and player of the white-blue team - will take over until the end of the season.
Christakakis confirms that he is not an option for the subsequent season.
After the end of the season, Chyzowski will go back to the cooperation partner EHC Munich, where he was previously responsible for the U17s.
Christakakis is convinced that player development will be more advanced under Chyzowski than under Kink.
“Otherwise we would not have decided to take this step.
We'll see whether it was the right or wrong decision. ”But he doesn't expect any miracles from Chyzowski.
