Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihida Soga has stressed his country's commitment to host the Olympics this summer, despite the corona virus.

Soga said today (Friday) that he is "determined" to hold the games despite the doubts and negative public opinion.

Soga said at a global economic forum that his country would host the Olympics and Paralympic Games and that he was "determined to present the Games as a victory for humanity over the plague, as a symbol of global solidarity and to provide hope and encouragement around the world."

Things of its kind came after the International Olympic Committee withdrew its commitment to continue preparations for the Olympics and claimed that all speculations were hurting and distracting the athletes.
