The ex-president of El Salvador's Football Association, Reynaldo Vásquez, is extradited to the United States and is to be charged in a court in New York.
This should be done on Friday, said the federal court in the Brooklyn district.
Vásquez is said to be involved in the scandal over the sale of football and marketing rights in Latin America.
The US Department of Justice accuses him of a number of criminal offenses in this context.
Among other things, it is about money laundering in the amount of 450,000 US dollars.
Vásquez had already been arrested in his home country at the end of 2015 and the US authorities then applied for his extradition.
In 2017, Vásquez was sentenced to eight years in prison for serious fraud in his home country for embezzling social security contributions.
This delayed his handover to the US judiciary.
The world football association Fifa banned Vásquez for life in October 2019.
Several former football officials from Latin America have already been convicted in New York.
Former FIFA Vice-President Juan Ángel Napout from Paraguay received nine years in prison in December 2017.
The US Department of Justice had announced the names of a total of 16 accused football officials two years earlier.
