Summary of the game of the season: Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Haifa dramatically 1: 2 (Sport 1)
The Referees' Association published today (Saturday) its weekly report summarizing the events of the 16th and 17th rounds of the Premier League.
The focus, of course, was on the game events of the season between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa.
In the report, the union referred only to moves examined by the VAR, emphasizing the abolition of the penalty that was awarded to the Yellows in the first half, after a doubtful offense by Raz Meir on Enrique Sborit in the open.
As you may recall, referee Uriel Greenfeld initially pointed to the penalty spot, but canceled the penalty to the Yellows' credit with the help of the VAR system.
The referees' association backed the decision, but did not refer to other events in which the video system was not activated, such as the penalty that allegedly went to Maccabi Haifa in the final minutes of the game, after a doubtful touch by Luis Hernandez in the open.

The committee actually backed up all the decisions made with the help of the VAR, adding as a side note: "Recently, there have been a number of disciplinary offenses among team bench officials. The
judges have been instructed to persevere and enforce and punish, in accordance with constitutional provisions."
