The publication of
The Times
in
exclusive of the dossier of 18 pages
that lays the
foundations for the SuperLiga sought by top clubs ACE
and strongly supports Florentino, it gives the real keys to the project.
And a
very solid clue to the reason for the
interest of the president of Madrid, since, between
the 350 million per head that the 15 founding clubs insure themselves and the 3,500 million that are distributed among them (there is room for 233) for infrastructures,
also starting , it can be said that the white entity assured itself an immediate income of
583 million and that, therefore, would be equivalent to paying at a stroke the reform of the Bernabéu, for which a loan of 570 million was requested.
The skeleton of
the Superliga project
revealed by
The Times
outlines
an attempt to close the highest level football to the most powerful clubs.
Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético
are the
Spanish
teams
that are involved in this project
(which would be among the 15
founders)
against which
FIFA and UEFA and even the European Commission
have ended
up rising in arms.
But for Madrid, more than subsistence in these times of crisis, the Super League meant ensuring (as for the other 14 founding clubs), supremacy in European football.
These are the highlights of the unveiled project.

350 million to start talking:
That is the amount that is assured, according to the document, each of the 15 founding clubs,
including six clubs from England, three from Spain, three from Italy, two from Germany and one, PSG, from France.
In addition to those 15 fixed clubs, there would be another five places that would be accessed for sporting merits.
The latter are the only ones that would change year after year.
3.5 billion more to improve infrastructure:
The document reveals that the entity
JP Morgan Chase,
which is also related to the loan for the reform of the Bernabéu,
is willing to give another
3,500 million entry
, to promote the Superliga project, to be
distributed among the 15 fixed clubs (touch to 233 million each),
which would be used to finance
"reforms in the facilities"
or
"restore part of the income lost due to the COVID crisis."
Competition system (more matches):
The initial idea raised in the dossier is to play during the week and continue participating in the national leagues.
For the Super League
,
two large groups of 10 teams
each
would be formed
, to
play at home and away from each other,
and the
first four
of each group
would go directly to the quarterfinals
(double-game, like the semifinals);
the final would be a match.
Therefore,
a total of 18 to 23 games would be played (now, winning the Champions League, 13 are played).
More power for the greats:
The
competition ensures
a
revenue
on television much
higher
than those now provided by
the Champions, even for the 15 founding clubs for five would
agree on sporting merit, and also
the Super League would entitle
those 15 clubs to show
four games to the world through its own digital platforms
(websites, televisions, social networks ...).
This would further increase said income.

The idea has been
cut short since
The Times
unveiled the content of those 18 pages that were a kind of founding act,
and now it is beginning to speak with more force about that project to
remodel the competition that UEFA had projected for 2024 .
But Florentino made Madrid's position clear at the club's last Assembly, when he told his delegates: "Without all these changes, football could not have been what it is today (in reference to the creation of the European Cup, in the that the white club participated actively), but we
need a new
change
. Football has to face this new time. And so Madrid will be looking, as Infantino says, to defend the fans. The fans themselves find themselves with a saturation of the calendar that makes everything very difficult, even identifying the competition that is being played. There are players who are injured by this saturation.
The reform of football cannot wait
and we have to face it.
We have the responsibility to fight for this change.
The new generations consume more content. They must improve competitiveness and quality
.
"
For now, Infantino and FIFA have distanced themselves from the idea, which seems buried.
