2021-01-30T07:34:50.441Z

Léa Le Garrec, the captain of Fleury (D1), opposed to PSG this Saturday in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, is a consultant on the champion

She is as comfortable with a soccer ball as a microphone.

At 27, the international offensive midfielder (4 capes) of Fleury (5th in D1) Léa Le Garrec has indeed made a brilliant start to her career as a consultant for the Premier League on Canal + since November.

This Saturday, she will combine her two professional activities.

After participating in the afternoon (kick off at 3 p.m.) with Fleury in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France against PSG, the player trained in… PSG will then go to the studios of the encrypted channel for comment in the evening of a match of the 21st day of the English championship between Southampton and Aston Villa.

"I love living under pressure, if I don't do anything I'm not good," laughs the bubbly brunette.

This week, she carefully prepared her second game on Saturday.

"I note in a notebook all the information I researched on the two teams, I read the press every day and I watch their last games on TV", specifies the freelance writer.

Léa got noticed by Canal + for her ease at the microphone during her post-match reactions when she was playing at Guingamp.

"We fell in love with Léa"

After a stint as a guest on the D + 1 show, the native of Dreux (Eure-et-Loir), not selected for the 2019 Women's World Cup in France, is offered to comment on the competition and to appear on the plateau on the Late Football Club show.

"We fell in love with Léa," indicates Laurent Jaoui, the deputy editor of Canal +.

It has been one of the great successes among our consultants.

She's still a player and you can hear it in the way she comments.

After a year spent in the English club Brighton, Léa signed up with Fleury last summer.

The encrypted channel then offers him to comment on the English championship.

"I spoke to its president Pascal Bovis and his coach so that it does not pose a problem," explains Laurent Jaoui.

It was a bit complicated to assign her to the women's D1 because she would be judge and party playing Fleury so we put her on the Premier League instead because she spent a year in England.

She's a great football analyst!

Juggling between a career as a sportswoman and that of a consultant requires real discipline.

"I force myself never to comment on a match, one or two days before participating in a meeting with Fleury," specifies the one who started painting during the first confinement.

Say I'm playing on Saturday and have to comment on a game on Thursday or be on the Late Football Club show from 11pm to midnight.

If I ever suck at my game on Saturday, I wouldn't want to hear that it's because of fatigue from my TV obligations.

My main employer remains Fleury.

"

Within the Essonnien club, we are delighted to see its captain and top scorer break through on the small screen.

“It's a good experience for her and it also allows her to talk about the club,” said coach David Fanzel.

Despite this success at the microphone, Léa intends to put her playing career in the foreground.

“I take great pleasure in my role as a consultant, but I don't set myself any goals in this profession.

My priority is to be in the field for another 6 or 7 years, insists this holder of a BTS in real estate.

I want to finish as high as possible with Fleury and return to the Team in France

(Editor's note: his last selection dates back to November 2017)
