The Vendée Globe as seen by Clarisse Crémer: "I cried with joy at least once a day"

During the Vendée Globe, Clarisse Crémer shared with us her life at sea aboard the “Banque populaire X”. The navigator should arrive c

“Above all, I don't want to take stock of an adventure that is not yet over, and especially not yet won!

I have less than 1000 km to go.

This is not much considering the 45,000 km of this round the world trip, but it is still more than enough to reserve surprises.

Despite everything, I wanted to share an emotional statistic that was quite representative of the adventure I just experienced: in 84 days of racing, apart from the first five days, I cried with joy at least once a day.

Even in the few days of psychological distress that I was able to live, there was inevitably a ray of sunshine which allowed me to marvel at the incredible beauty of the elements.

It was not necessarily torrents of tears, but at least the throat tied, the eye wet and an indelible smile on his face.

And yet, I'm not the type to cry with joy over a yes or a no.

Sure, fatigue helps to get overwhelmed by emotions, but still, who else has cried for joy almost every day since November 8?

Going around the world alone is a condenser of life, an accelerator of emotions that gives the impression of living ten years in three months.

I like the formula that says you can't add days to your life, but you can add life to your life.

In an attempt to add life to its days I can only recommend the Vendée Globe!

Granted, it's not impossible that this will age competitors prematurely (I recently read an uninspiring scientific study about the very damaging consequences of lack of sleep on the brain), but I would say it's worth the effort. !

Thus, this last word on board, written off the Iberian Peninsula, while other adventures still await me most certainly from here Les Sables-d'Olonne, aims to thank all those who offered me this extraordinary privilege of living more intensely than ever for 3 months.

There are those who organized the Vendée Globe 2020, without trembling in the face of the many pitfalls raised by the pandemic, there is my sponsor Banque Populaire who trusted me by propelling me into this magical universe, there is my team who took me seriously when I myself did not necessarily feel legitimate, there are finally all those who from near or far have thought of me and carried me, I am sure, across the oceans .

It is never too early to say thank you, and whatever happens between the crossing of the line I am full of gratitude for this unique adventure that I have been given to live.
