Ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl has set a personal record in the NHL.
When his Edmonton Oilers beat the Ottawa Senators 8-5, Draisaitl scored six goals.
However, he narrowly missed the league record: Billy Taylor from the Detroit Redwings and ice hockey icon Wayne Gretzky hold the record of seven assists in one game.
Gretzky managed this feat three times in his career - the last time in 1986, also for the Oilers.
Draisaitl is the first player to get six assists in the first two thirds of a game.
"Six templates are great, nice, I'm really happy, but in the end the two points are much more important," said Draisaitl.
After his gala in the NHL scorer classification, the 25-year-old remains second behind his teammate Connor McDavid (22) with 21 points (six goals, 15 assists).
Draisaitl won this rating last season.
Draisaitl put on the first goal after eight seconds and compatriot Dominik Kahun scored to give an early lead.
After the first third, Edmonton was leading 5: 3.
The Oilers didn't give up the lead, thanks in part to McDavid, who put in four goals and scored one himself.
In the last third, the German top talent Tim Stützle came for Ottawa to his second league goal.
After the game, however, Stützle was upset.
“If we get eight goals, we can't win a hockey game.
The more I play and the more often I get the puck, the more self-confidence I have.
But eight goals are unacceptable, ”he said.
About the first duel with Draisaitl, Stützle said: “You can't really say that it was fun - he had six points today.
It's not much fun against him. "
