On November 25, one of the greatest footballers of all time, Diego Maradona, died in Argentina, after suffering from a variety of diseases and after taking many antidepressant pills that did not suit him at all, according to his autopsy.

A little over two months later, Johnny Esposito, Diego's nephew, told the local media in an interview about his uncle's last moments.

"My uncle didn't want to live at all," Esposito said.

"I do not know why he did not fight in his last moments as he did all his life. Maybe it's because he felt he could no longer kick the ball. I remember that on November 24, the day before he died, he was fine physically, but not mentally. "I wanted to live more and he didn't want to be helped. I tried to talk to him and convince him to help him, but he just told me 'I've been living for 60 years, and that's not how I want to go on.' .

"I do not think he suffered in his last moments," Maradona's nephew continued.

"Indeed, he refused to eat. Not because he was in pain but because he was depressed."

Maradona died at the age of 60 at the end of November.

A few weeks earlier he had successfully had surgery to remove a blood clot in his head, but it had collapsed in his home in Tigre.

Maradona scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina and represented it in four World Cups, including a memorable win at the 1986 World Cup.
