Roberto Mancini announced tonight (Tuesday) that he does not intend to continue as coach of the Italian national team after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Italian coach, who raised the regional to the nearest Euro with a perfect balance of 10 out of 10 wins in the qualifiers, made it clear in a local interview that he feels it is time to go out and look for a new adventure for himself.
"After the World Cup in Qatar in the winter, I will not continue to coach the regional," the coach clarified, "I want to return and coach teams - that is my goal."
Mancini added that he believes the next coach will be one of the following: Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti and Jean-Pierre Gasparini. "There are a lot of candidates for coaching the team, I do not know exactly who it will be. Just for example there are the Allegri, Ancelotti and Gasparini. It will be one of them."
