About 600 people connected in this way otherwise to the Australian Tennis Championships, were instructed to go into solitary confinement two weeks after working at the hotel where they were staying, received a positive result after undergoing a corona test.
Meanwhile the tournament (February 8-21) is not in jeopardy, but in Australia things could change very quickly.
Australia dealt with the corona through very strict closures imposed on eruption areas.
During 2020 Victoria, where the city of Melbourne is located, was one of the main focal points of the eruption, but after rigid and adherent guidelines from the citizens, the figures became enviable.
For many weeks no new cases of infection have been recorded in Victoria, but now there is concern after 6 cases were discovered in the last day.
Thus, the local prime minister (who is of course subordinate to the Australian government), Daniel Andrews, convened a press conference in a hurry in which he announced some new guidelines.
Not closed yet, but tightening.
Although Victoria has over 6.8 million people, even 6 infections can paralyze the entire region.
For now, this is not the plan, but further adherence will lead to the closure.
The current contestant - a 26-year-old - worked in one of three hotels where they were dispersed for the purpose of isolating the tennis players, their staff and the rest of the craft ahead of the tournament.
Meanwhile in Australia it is reported that the existence of the Grand Slam tournament is not in danger, but the emphasis is on the word so far.
