Peace with the United Arab Emirates continues to take its place in Israeli sports, when an agreement was signed today between the leader of the Maccabi Haifa Premier League and the El Ein team from the Emirates.
The purpose of the two clubs is for joint activities in the field of sports, technology and of course business, with a showcase game planned between the teams.
Initially there was supposed to be a match between the teams in the Persian Gulf last month, but due to the corona it was postponed to a date yet to be set.
Maccabi Haifa President Yaakov Shachar said: "There is nothing more important in our world than peace between peoples, friendship and evil between man and his friend and the sanctity of life. I am glad we have reached this day. I am proud to head a club that contributes to the community and connects people and cultures."
"We are pleased to sign an agreement with the Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. This is an important historical step, proving how important the role of sports is in promoting tolerance and unifying peace between nations," added Muhammad bin Thalub, chairman of the board of directors.
