Florence Lecellier, first woman to have won a quinté trotting (in 2003 at the sulky of
Iras du Bottey
), died at Caen University Hospital at the age of 49.
Most of her career has been spent alongside François Lemoine in Bavent (Calvados) since she worked for the owner from 1994 to 2012, first as a pilot and then as a trainer.
Obviously touched by this disappearance, the latter confided: “Florence was a fighter, a born competitor.
He was a whole person with great strength of character, which allowed him to establish himself in this very masculine environment.
She had a good sense of observation, which convinced me to entrust her with the preparation of my horses.
Quickly, a symbiosis settled between us.
As an anecdote, she saddled her first starter directly in a Group I at the Prix de Vincennes in 1994!

Following recurring health problems, she had withdrawn from competition since February 9, 2018, the date of her last trip to the sulky of

, for the trainer, Eric Ledoyen in Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes- Maritimes).
