What's going on with Liverpool?
Jürgen Klopp's formidable team that ran over the league last season and won the Champions League the season before, lost yesterday (Wednesday) for the second time in a row at Anfield, 1-0 to Brighton in a game in which they barely endangered the opponent's goal.
Klopp's side, who are seven points clear of leaders City, three days before the meeting between the two, lost twice in a row at home for the first time since September 2012. This was after they recorded an incredible 68-game unbeaten streak at Anfield in the league until that loss to Burnley.

"Right now, we are not in the championship race," Scottish defender Andy Robertson admitted after the game, "We are seven points away from City and they have a game in hand. We need to get back to being a Liverpool everyone knows. We are still a good team, we have not become a weak team at the moment."
Liverpool may have lost all their brakes due to injuries, but their more serious problem is in attack.
Klopp's players have not scored 348 consecutive minutes at Anfield - since Mana's goal (who did not play yesterday) in the unimpressive 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion more than a month ago.
It was the first time Liverpool had recorded three home games without scoring after more than 36 years.
All this before the meeting against City, which has not conceded a single goal in its last six games.
The frustrating season continues.

"Very disappointing, no reason to smile after this game," said the usually smiling and calm coach Jürgen Klopp, "It was a really hard week. We had two intense and good away games and again we looked not fresh and mentally and physically exhausted. I know what these players are capable of, "It didn't happen. We made life easy for Brighton, but they played very well for them."
Peter Crouch, ex-Liverpool well described what Liverpool are going through when he said: "They were inhuman last season and I think this season we see their human side. They played without Allison, Mane, Van Dyke, Jote. These are very important players. "They need a deeper staff, at the moment they are too dependent on Muhammad Salah."
