Maccabi Haifa signed a historic cooperation agreement with the United Arab Emirates football club yesterday (Wednesday).

This is a sports, technological and business agreement, which was broadcast on the club's official channel from the Gulf.

In the first phase, friendly matches are expected between the clubs, and the Greens will be the first to play on Muslim country soil.

In the future, transfers of players between the clubs are also expected.

"Israel Today" has learned that al-Ein is interested in adding players from Haifa as early as this summer.

The first name that came to the table was that of striker Muhammad Awad.

If the deal goes through, the player is also expected to make a significant financial upgrade.

This season Awad is on loan to Polish side Poznan, and in the summer he is scheduled to return to Carmel.

But as mentioned, the 24-year-old striker may embark on a new and surprising stop - and become the second legionnaire in the Emirates after Dia Seba.

The deal between Maccabi Haifa and Al-Ein has been forged in recent months.

Club president Yaakov Shachar, his deputy Uzi Mor and general manager Assaf Ben Dov led the move. Ben Dov was in constant contact with the heads of the emirate club, researched and connected with his leaders. In the future, there may also be business collaborations that will bring money to the Greens.

"There is nothing more important in our world than peace between peoples, friendship and evil between a man and his friend and the sanctity of life," said Shahar. "I am glad we have reached this day. "We have found the right and appropriate partners - Al-Ain Football Club is the largest and most respected in the UAE.

It is an accomplished club that has set its sights on leading the sports culture and contributing to the community for a better future. "

Ben Dov added: "In the near future, our goal will be to establish an orderly and joint work plan in the sports, cultural, technological and business fields. This is for the progress of the two clubs for a good and fruitful future."
