After an agreement was reached between Moshe Ponti, chairman of the Judo Association, and the government ministries, it was decided tonight (Thursday) that the Tel Aviv Judo Grand Prix will be held as planned on February 18 at Heichal Shlomo in Tel Aviv (which currently serves as a vaccination station).

It should be noted that the prestigious tournament will take place even if the skies remain closed until mid-February, an unrealistic scenario at the moment.

Either way the competitors will be able to enter Israel with their team, with an estimated 300 foreigners landing in the country to take part in a competition that will continue throughout the weekend after undergoing a number of corona tests before and after their arrival.

It should be noted that the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv will be closed in its entirety in honor of the competition.

Meanwhile, the Judo Association fantasizes that green passport holders can enter the stands with masks to watch the competition, but another vision for the date and they are currently content with holding the competition.

The Mongolian Iranian Said Moulay entered the competition and so did the best judoka in the world, Teddy Riner.

However, the chances of both of them reaching Israel are slim.
