The loans from Christian Früchtl and Sarpreet Singh are a failure for FC Bayern. Singh is already back in Munich, Früchtl is not used.

The loans from Christian Früchtl and Sarpreet Singh are a failure for FC Bayern.

Singh is already back in Munich, Früchtl is not used.

  • During the winter break, other talents from the third division championship team of FC Bayern were loaned to higher leagues to promote their development.

  • But not all youngsters are happy with their new clubs.

Sarpreet Singh returns from Nuremberg after half a year, Christian Früchtl is stewing on the bench there.

  • The two young players were promised a different style of play at the Franconians before the season.

Munich - Traditionally, not much happens at Bayern in the winter transfer window.

On the last day of this year, however, there was again a little movement: In Chris Richards (20) and Joshua Zirkzee (19), FC Bayern awarded two more top talents shortly before the store closed.

While defender Richards will return straight to Munich after half a year at TSG Hoffenheim in the summer, attacker Zirkzee has a purchase option for Parma Calcio for 15 million euros.

The underlying idea behind these loans is the same for both players: They should collect more playing time at first division level than was previously the case with FC Bayern.

FC Bayern: Several talents are trying to develop in other locations

Those responsible have already used this model more often in the current season: Leon Dajaku (19) moved to Union Berlin for the next six months, central defender Lars Lukas Mai (20 / Darmstadt), midfielder Adrian Fein (21 / Eindhoven) and Michael Cuisance (21 / Marseille) and attacker Oliver Batista-Meier (19 / Heerenveen).

In terms of playtime, they're all looking good.

Bayern often have problems with only one club when it comes to loaning their talents.

The one that is geographically closest.

To be precise: in Franconia.

It is: 1. FC Nürnberg.

Last Friday it became known that Sarpreet Singh (21) ended his club loan early and was returning to Säbener Straße.

Together with Singh, goalkeeper jewel Christian Früchtl (21) was awarded to the Franks in the summer.

Instead of collecting match practice, however, Früchtl is only sitting on the bench as a substitute for goalkeeper Christian Mathenia - although Mathenia is only partially convincing with his performance.

This not only pissed off Früchtl, but also those responsible for Bavaria.

But why is there always a talent squabble with the club?

FC Bayern: Wrong promises to Sarpreet Singh and Christian Früchtl at 1. FC Nürnberg

In the case of Singh and Früchtl, the problems are easy to identify.

As our newspaper found out, they were promised a different style of football than what is currently being played in Nuremberg.

The club attracted the top talent with attack-like offensive football, which the new coach Robert Claus wanted to play as a former assistant to Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.

But in the course of the season it quickly became clear that no offensive power football with a lot of possession is played in Nuremberg - on the contrary: The team is in a relegation battle, stands in the back and tries their luck with long balls.

Ingrateful for tech-savvy players like Singh.

This style also becomes Früchtl's undoing.

He was taught by goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic in Munich to initiate the opening of the game with flat passes to the central defenders.

That is only possible to a limited extent in Nuremberg.

No wonder that after it became known that the Singh loan was canceled, the rumor of a possible Bayern return from Früchtl also made the rounds.

It is not true.

The goalkeeper will stay in Nuremberg at least until the summer.

But what he already knows today: not a single day longer.
