OM-PSG: how the tube "Organized band" found itself in the heart of the clasico

2021-02-05T12:16:23.098Z

The hit resulting from the Marseille project 13'Organisé was widely used by supporters and players before the first leg, even appearing in the

Impossible to miss this song, already listed in the pantheon of French rap classics.

Since its release on August 15, 2020, “Bande Organized”, hit from the album “13'Organisé” signed by a collective of Marseille artists, has been traveling across France and the world.

It has accumulated more than 250 million views on YouTube, nearly 100 million plays on the Spotify platform alone… The sound was even broadcast by the sound system of the NBA room of the Utah Jazz where the Frenchman Rudy Gobert plays.

Will we hear "Organized band" this Sunday evening at the Vélodrome?

It would be anything but surprising as the title to the bewitching rhythm had surrounded the PSG-OM clasico of September 13, concluded with the first Marseille victory in 10 years.

“Sometimes I tell myself that without this sound they would never have won,” says Naps, member of the 13'Organisé collective.

They fought like dogs, it was a real clasico.

The stars were aligned… Before entering the field, they had inevitably the sound in the ears.

"

“Organized gang” is not even a story of football or clasico.

Just a hymn to Marseille, which vibrates and cries to the rhythm of OM's results.

No word refers to the Marseille club or the Parisian rival but you just have to start the clip to understand that football is never far away.

“Here, it has always been OM, we bathe in it, recalls Naps.

When we discussed the clip, we had a WhatsApp group and everyone gave their ideas.

We talked about the Vélodrome and thanks to Jul we had the access to shoot a few scenes.

I would never have thought of going into this locker room, treading the lawn.

I was in the privacy of the club.

I'll tell my kids about it later.

The clasico of September 13 smelled like a return to the boiling confrontations of the 1990s. The chambering between the fans has resumed with a vengeance since the Champions League final lost by PSG three weeks earlier.

Dimitri Payet spread the powder, Parisian supporters lit the fuse with several flowery banners in the pre-match in the streets of the capital.

“PSG-OM: 9 years of organized gang sodomy,” said one of them, deployed on the famous Bir-Hakeim bridge at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

Everyone will judge the vulgarity of the words but we will note the first reference to the Marseille tube.

Everyone remembers the rest: an ultra-tense clasico, concluded with a Marseille victory, clashes between players, exclusions and accusations of racism.

The next day, Dimitri Payet continues the chambering on social networks with a photo montage featuring the cover of the song "Organized Band" and the sentence: "It's not the capital, it's Marseille baby.

"In place of the eight Marseille rappers, the heads of OM players.

In place of the dog held by Naps (now Alvaro Gonzalez), the head of a crying Neymar.

“It's fair game, I laughed a lot, remembers the rapper from the 11th arrondissement of Marseille.

It's funny that it's me who holds Neymar because in one of my sounds, I said:

"Having Neymar is good, having the star is better"

.

It's not mean.

We come back to this star embroidered on the OM jersey, the very one that triggered the chambering of Payet on the evening of the Parisian defeat against Bayern Munich.

In the clip of "Organized Band", the Munich tunic could also have appeared.

“It's true that I have the Juve jersey.

It's my side Cristiano Ronaldo, laughs Naps.

I would have liked to wear the Bayern one with Franck Ribéry but I didn't have it with me.

It would have been a nice wink (laughs).

"

The tube has crossed the borders of the Marseille city

Long after the filming of the clip made in the heart of summer, the chorus was displayed in style at the Vélodrome.

After OM's victory at the Parc des Princes, the Marseille club had the phrase “It's Marseille baby” written on its Ganay stand.

“It was a crazy thing, cowardly Naps.

It's like the first time we saw each other on TV.

The sound invaded everyone.

As an OM enthusiast, it's nice to see that.

This new Vélodrome look did not bring luck to Florian Thauvin's teammates.

In the next two matches, they lost to Saint-Etienne (2-0) and conceded a draw against Lille (1-1).

The Stéphanois did not deprive themselves of continuing the chambering: “It's Sainté bébé”, could we read on ASSE's social networks.

Five months after the clasico first leg, OM and PSG meet again this Sunday at the Vélodrome for the third time this season. If the atmosphere in Marseille has changed a lot since, references to the hit of the rapper collective still exist on the banners deployed by OM fans for the attention of players or managers. Last proof that "Organized band" has gone beyond the borders of the Marseille city: it is not uncommon to hear PSG players, like Kylian Mbappé, hum the song at the Camp des Loges.
