Celtic are preparing for a farewell protest Abed Alhamid and it seems that the Scottish luxury club are not too sorry following the expected departure of the versatile defender, who is expected to return to Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Coach Neil Lennon spoke yesterday about Alhamid's difficulties living in Scotland without his family and relatives and in one of the websites covering Celtic wrote this morning: "It seems that in this case (of parting with Alhamid) the reasons are no less humane than professional. If he wants to be close to his family, it's okay "He will leave. Alhamid impressed from time to time in his Celtic debut season, but unfortunately he suffered injuries. Later there was a decline in his ability due to some mistakes he made. By then it was already clear that he would not be the future right - back of the team."
The 29-year-old Alhamid was sold from Hapoel Beer Sheva to Celtic in the summer of 2019. In his season and a half in Glasgow, he made 30 appearances in all competitions and was absent for long periods due to injuries.
He is involved in just 13 games in the Scottish Premier League and in recent months has lost his status - partly due to more injuries and due to Corona's isolation.
Alhamid started in Celtic's squad for the last time in December, with a 4: 2 loss to AC Milan in the Europa League.
His last appearance was as a substitute: 17 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Rangers at Old Firm on January 2nd.
