Champions League: RB Leipzig against Liverpool takes place in Budapest

Because Jürgen Klopp's team is not allowed to travel to Germany due to the Corona restrictions, the Champions League game in Leipzig was on the brink. Uefa has now approved a neutral venue.

The first leg of the Champions League round of 16 between RB Leipzig and Liverpool FC will be played in Budapest on February 16.

The European Football Union Uefa announced on Sunday.

The game had threatened to be canceled: Due to the current Corona restrictions, it was not allowed to be played in Leipzig because Liverpool was not allowed to enter Germany.

In the past, Uefa had already approved Budapest as a neutral venue in another case.
