Washington coach Scott Brooks commented on the fact that Abdia went down to the bench and said: "He handled it the way we knew he would handle it. He's a great kid who works hard. He's going to be a top five player in this league for 12 to 15 years. Everything new for him. It's a new city "I thought he got into the game well, took rebounds and competed."
Brooks complimented Abdia's defense, saying: "I like his toughness. He kept Zac Lavine. He was there and struggled with him. He forced him to take hard shots. The attack will come too, he will not throw like that all the time. He has not played well in recent games. "But he returned to the top five thanks to his toughness."
Ben Mahitch, one of the reporters covering the team, did not really like the fact that Abdia lost his place in the top five to the Bartans and wrote "Abdia is one of the best guards on the Washington roster. Bartans is not and his shooting is problematic. I can not understand that."
Mahitch also noted the fact that Abdia is hitting 43 percent from the field outside the arc compared to just 33 for Bartans, who is not considered a good defensive player.
