About a week ago, Jerome Boateng announced his separation from his partner, Cassia Lannhardt.
Yesterday (Tuesday) she was found lifeless in her apartment in Berlin, apparently after taking her own life.
The 25-year-old Lanhardt, best known in Germany after participating in the Top Model program in 2012, has been in a relationship with Bayern Munich's stopper for the past 15 months.
Her friend, model Sarah Kolka, praised her on Instagram: "Rest in peace. You are an amazing person, I miss you and I wish I could say goodbye to you. I hope you now find your peace and wish the truth came out. I know how much you wanted it to happen. I will never forget "I do not know anyone who laughed like you."

Boateng accused Lanhardt earlier this month of sabotaging his relationship with another ex, Rebecca, the mother of his two children.
"Cassia tried to blackmail me and my family," he told Bild.
"During our relationship she threatened to kill me, ruin my career and cause me to lose my children. She said she would accuse him of beating her, so that they would sue me. She contacted my child's mother and said she could help her in court, I hope she gets help. She needs it. "
In a slightly more forgiving post he posted on Instagram a few weeks ago, Brake wrote: "As everyone knows from the media, I ended my relationship with Cassia. Lahnhardt, for her part, called the German national team player a "devil" and promised: "Soon everyone will hear from me, right now I need to recover. Please give me time. I will fight back! I have never been exploited like this and lied to like this."
