The Syria fencing team concluded its joint training camp with the Iraqi team, which included twenty players from all age groups in addition to the administrative and technical staff in Tishreen Sports City in Damascus.

In a statement to SANA, the President of the Game Federation, Ahmed Jaber Al-Rifai, said: “The camp had a great benefit, as 15 players from our main and reserve team participated in addition to the Damascus Center,” indicating that the training took place in two morning and evening shifts for a week in addition to matches between the two teams.

Al-Rifai added that the camp came in preparation for the upcoming benefits, especially the Asian Championships for all age groups that will be held in Uzbekistan and the World Championships for men and women to be held in Egypt.

In turn, the head of the Iraqi Federation of Fencing, Ziad Hassan Jassim, said: “Based on the close relationship between the two brotherly countries, we set up a training camp at the invitation of the Syrian Federation. .

The coach of the national team, Adham Saqr, explained that the establishment of a camp with a good team in the game will benefit everyone, pointing out that training is continuing in the October gym to continue preparing for the upcoming benefits, and most importantly, work is underway very seriously to improve the level of the reserve team in terms of quantity and quality and expand the base of the game.
