Maccabi Haifa reached the Haifa derby tonight (Wednesday) knowing that it would lose first place to Maccabi Tel Aviv if it lost (following the Yellows' victory over Hapoel Hadera), but managed to achieve a 0: 2 victory and maintained its place at the top.

San Menachem and Goodswe Donio won for the Greens and kept the three points for the host.

In doing so, Barak Bachar's players rewarded their city rival for the dramatic loss they inflicted on them in the previous round.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Awad has landed in the country and is expected to join back to the Greens after opening the season in Polish Belek Poznan.

The striker is expected to sign his new contract with Barak Bachar's team tomorrow.

Immediately after the game, a big commotion broke out between the players of the two teams when San Menachem approached the Hapoel Haifa bench at the end of the game and, according to the Reds, provoked them.

Gal Erel responded immediately and instead a mass brawl developed between dozens of participants on both sides.

During the incident, Maccabi Haifa general manager Assaf Ben Dov, who took an active part in the incident, was pushed to the floor. The incident also continued in the players' tunnel, when the refereeing team had to go to VAR to watch the events.
