The first gold medal of the Cortina d'Ampezzo World Championships in men fell in the hands of Vincent Kriechmayr, winner of the super-G.
The Austrian, leader of the World Cup rankings in the specialty, beat the German Romed Baumann (+ 0''07) and the French Alexis Pinturault (+ 0''38).
The Courchevel skier is getting off to a good start in his Worlds in which he is aiming for the title in several disciplines (combined, giant, slalom).
