It's slowly becoming a tradition.

In the past six games, the top division ice hockey club EC Peiting had to go into extra time four times.

So also on Friday evening at ECDC Memmingen.

Memmingen

- And again the EC Peiting could not crack the Memmingen "Indians".

Sebastian Buchwieser's team experienced a similar bankruptcy as ten days earlier.

The ECDC was a guest in Peiting: Buchwieser's troop took the lead, Memmingen equalized.

And in the penalty shootout, the Memminger team finally won.

It was exactly the same on Friday evening.

Only this time the result was not 5: 4, but 3: 2.

Peiting got off to a good start with the guest performance in Memmingen.

Simon Maier gave the ECP the lead after about six minutes, Martin Hlozek increased the power play to 2-0 in the 19th minute.

But before the break, Myles Fitzgerald overcame Peiting's goalie, Florian Hechenrieder - and it was 1: 2.

Peiting multiple times in excess

Hardly two minutes were over in the middle third when Hlozek had to go to the penalty bench after a gang check.

The ECP defended themselves successfully for only 32 seconds, then Milan Pfalzer managed to equalize.

Two penalties for the Memmingers also gave the Peitingers an outnumbered game - for a short time five ECP players faced three “Indians”.

But the otherwise strong power play didn't work.

It stayed at 2-2.

That changed nothing in the last third and even in the overtime - although the Peitingers were once again outnumbered.

So the penalty shootout had to bring the decision.

Fitzgerald made the decisive attack.

Memmingens 26 secured the victory for the ECDC.

Like ten days before.
