Two of them are now obsolete.

- Ludwig Schmidt, as the game director of the Donau / Isar football

district

, has been thinking about how things could go on in the amateur leagues since the beginning of the year.

On January 31, he informed the clubs in an internal letter about various possible restart scenarios.

The possibility of a late end of the season has already been outlined.

Schmidt also announced a personnel change in the ranks of the playgroup leaders: At the end of 2020, Helmut Steinmeier ended his role as group game leader.

Until the end of the season, the remaining two game directors Ludwig Schmidt and Florian Neubert will share Steinmeier's tasks.

When the information of the press representatives started last Thursday, two of the four proposed scenarios had already been dealt with because of the political decisions.

The corona situation has improved, explains Schmidt, but after the lockdown was extended until March 7, it appears extremely unlikely that the game will continue before Easter.

The championship has "absolute priority" in the planning games.

Nevertheless, the 59-year-old BFV official said that the league cup will continue to be held as long as “overriding instructions do not bring this competition to a standstill”.

Schedule variant from April 10th

In the possible framework calendar with starting dates on April 10th and 11th, the 20th day of the Danube / Isar district would begin.

During the week on Tuesday and Wednesday, the League Cup round of 16 and various catch-up games would have to be played in the two following weeks.

A full league game day would be played on the weekends so that the season finale would be played on Whit Saturday, May 22nd.

During the week, the quarter and semi-finals would be played in the League Cup so that the final would be scheduled for Thursday, May 13th (Ascension Day).

In the week before the last matchday, Tuesday / Wednesday, 18./19.

May, the semi-finals of the Toto Cup on the program.

The dates for the relegation games would be from Whit Monday, May 24th, to June 2nd.

So it could be that some clubs have three or four English weeks ahead of them in the spring.

Schedule variant from April 17th

In the framework calendar starting on 17./18.

April all of this would be pushed back a week at a time.

This would be the last regular game day of the season on 29./30.

May.

The relegation games dragged on until after the end of the Whitsun holidays (June 8th / 9th).

Just two days later, the opening game of the European Football Championship in Rome is on the program.

Other game plan variants

In the two other scenarios with a restart on 27./28.

March and April 3, respectively, would have been a maximum of relegation games at Whitsun.

But with the continuation of the hard lockdown without real training opportunities until at least March 7th, these two scenarios have become a long way off, according to Schmidt.

Because the clubs should be given at least four real training weeks before the start of the point games.

So it is already certain that this year there will still be games after Whitsun.
