Remaining program speaks for WWK Volleys Herrsching

Final spurt in the volleyball Bundesliga before the playoffs: The WWK Volleys Herrsching hosted VCO Berlin at the bottom on Saturday.

A clear 3-0 win would help coach Max Hauser's team to finish fourth at the end of the main round.

- The volleyball Bundesliga is entering the home straight.

The WWK Volleys Herrsching are once again facing a new record.

Coach Max Hauser's team is currently in sixth place.

However, you have fourth place in your own hand.

The tied United Volleys Frankfurt and SVG Lüneburg are currently only ahead of the Herrschingern because they have one more win (Frankfurt) or a slightly better rate quotient (Lüneburg).

Therefore, every set win in the next few games can be of crucial importance.

Probably the easiest task on paper is the WWK volleys on Saturday, 7 p.m. (live on sporttotal.tv).

Then the Ammerseer receive the still winless youngsters from the VCO Berlin in the local Nikolaushalle.

At first glance, the Berlin balance reads terrifying: 17 games, 17 defeats.

But these defeats are planned in the development of the youngsters (born in 2001 and 2002).

They should be brought up to the level of professional volleyball.

From the Herrschinger roster, Iven Ferch, Jonas Kaminski and Johannes Tille have the VCO Berlin as their first stop in men's volleyball.

Ferch and Tille played together at the Olympic base in Berlin in 2015.

“You change the league at regular intervals,” explains Tille.

"In the first year you play in the 2nd Bundesliga, the following year in the 1st Bundesliga." As a rule, the players who are recruited from all over Germany get along better in the lower division.

In 2015/2016 Tille & Co. reached 3rd place in the 2nd division north, in the first division season they won two games (against Rottenburg and Solingen) in addition to experience.

Many of the players from back then have made their way and are now regulars in the volleyball Bundesliga.

Johannes Tille first went from Berlin to Solingen, and since 2018 he has been the first setter in Herrsching.

This year's VCO year is not bad, regardless of the table.

Herrsching's coach Max Hauser also has the talents from the capital on his radar: "Basically, I find everyone from the boys interesting."

In the first leg, the young Berliners were able to take a sentence from the Herrschingern.

This was partly due to the fact that Libero Ferdinand Tille had to leave at short notice (girlfriend Judith was expecting their first child in Munich).

Under temporary libero Jori Mantha it was a problem at the beginning, but as the playing time increased, the WWK Volleys were masters of the strange house and ultimately won with 3: 1 sets.

With regard to the targeted fourth place, Hauser expects his team to make a committed appearance and "full steam from the first rally".

Captain Johannes Tille does not take the opponent lightly, but says confidently: “We have the quality to defeat the VCO in three sets.” Since the opponents from Frankfurt and Lüneburg are free of play this weekend, the WWK volleys would open Climb fourth.

The fight for the playoff places in the volleyball Bundesliga is more exciting than ever.

Everything is clear at the top of the table.

VfB Friedrichshafen will be the first to finish the main round, the Powervolleys Düren and Berlin Recycling Volleys scramble for second and third place.

Behind it is the battle of six for the remaining five playoff places.

The WWK Volleys Herrsching have the best chances.

The Ammerseer are currently sixth with 25 points, tied with United Volleys Frankfurt and SVG Lüneburg.

The Hessians have already played two more games.

And the Lüneburgers have the much more difficult remaining program.

The Northern Lights still have to play against the BR Volleys and twice against VfB Friedrichshafen as well as against their direct rivals Bühl and Giesen.

In addition to the two difficult away hurdles Düren and Berlin, the Herrschinger have three feasible home games (VCO Berlin, TSV Unterhaching and Grizzlys Giesen) in front of their chest.
