Danny Abdia and the Washington Wizards lost tonight (Friday-Saturday) to the New Knicks 109: 91 at the Capital 1 Arena, with another miserable performance, while even the lack of big star Bradley Bill could not be an excuse for ability.
Bill, who leads the league in points (32.8), was absent for an unknown reason, not to mention that it was not an evening-by-evening game.
The absence comes amid rumors that the superstar may be traded, although his agent has denied it.
The absence has raised speculation, mostly on Twitter, that Bill may move to the Knicks.
As for the loss, the Israeli forward recorded a solid game of 8 points (3/9 from the field, 1/5 from the three) and added 6 rebounds in about 21 minutes.
Abdia will be able to take comfort in the fact that the broadcaster of the home Wizards games, Justin Kutcher, gave him another "Shabbat Shalom" after the 20-year-old Israeli drowned.
Back in the game, the Knicks took control of the pace in the first quarter (23:30), led by great chin Mitchell Robinson.
The latter provided a wonderful half with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, but did not return from the break due to injury.
The gap grew to double digits with the start of the second quarter, Washington came back but the tough team of Tom Thibodeau (the fifth best defense in the league), stopped the host and finished the first half with a 42:53 advantage.
At the start of the third quarter, the Wizards seemed to be taking advantage of Robinson's absence, and they came back to a 58:55 lead in the first minutes.
But guard Julius Randall, who provided high ability (24 points) led the Knicks along with his teammates to a double-digit lead, which reached up to 15 points - 64:79 at the end of the third quarter.
From here the visitors did not stop, and the gap had already reached 25 points in the fourth quarter, which became a protocol too early from the visitors' side.
91: 109 to the Knicks at the end.
Russell Westbrook's nearly triple-double (23 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds) didn't really help Washington.
The Wizards' balance sheet with Westbrook, which came as part of a trade with John Wall as a side that should lead the team to the playoffs, now stands at just 14-2.
Scott Brooks' team, which will continue to hear reports of possible layoffs, now stands at just a 17: 6 balance.
On Sunday, you will be waiting for the team at a higher hurdle, when you meet the Boston Celtics (20:00 Israel time).
