Men
Daniel Medvedev (4), who impressed very much in the previous rounds of the tournament, worked very hard before beating Philip Krainovich (28) 3: 6, 3: 6, 6: 4, 6: 3, 0: 6.
This is the first time the Russian has won a game in five sets in his career, after losing all six previous times being dragged to 5 sets.
In the next round, Medvedev, who has 17 consecutive victories and has not lost in 2021, will face the American Mackenzie McDonald, who defeated George Harris 7: 6 (7), 1: 6, 4: 6.
Compared to Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas (5) had no trouble qualifying for the quarterfinals after defeating Mikal Yaimer 4: 6, 1: 6, 1: 6 in an hour and a half.
