Danny Abdia practices shooting after Washington's loss to Toronto (from the Wizards' Twitter)
Washington started the season quite badly, but one thing was not in doubt even when the losses piled up: the Wizards have offensive firepower, and the ability to score a lot of points in a short time.
But in recent games the Wizards have struggled: tonight they scored just 91 points in the home loss to the Knicks - their second-lowest amount this season - and once again looked very inaccurate off the arc.
Washington has scored just nine threes out of 34 attempts (26%) tonight, and in the last five games it has been 30% or less accurate off the arc.
Danny Abdia is an integral part of the drop in percentage: in these five games he has scored 3 threes out of 20 attempts - only 15% - and after opening a very impressive season in this field, he also seems to have a hard time.

Washington is wondering if this is a real problem, or if it's another of Corona's side effects: after all, quite a few players including Abdia have not played and trained regularly for some time after entering the NBA's Corona protocol, and are now slowly getting back into shape.
"It could very well be a matter of physical exhaustion. We have good shots on the team and I think they get pretty free looks. We need to stop thinking about it and just score those shots," Scott Brooks said.
Either way, the numbers back up the claim that the offensive drop began following the Corona outburst on the team: before the Wizards' score, they scored 120.5 points per game and were ranked second in the NBA, and after the outburst they scored just 105.9 points, 27th in the league.
Regarding the loss, there are those who are convinced that the problem will be solved and that it is a temporary shooting crisis.
"Danny Abdia came into this game with 38% of the three. Yes, he scored 1 of 5 tonight, but I don't think that's a big cause for concern," tweeted Zack Rosen of the official Washington website.
Even the legendary former Knicks player Walt Fraser, who interpreted the game for the spectators from New York, said on the broadcast about Abdia: "You can see he is a scorer. He has the movement and the groove of scenes."
