2021-02-14T15:37:11.584Z

Second part at twelve seconds of Tiril Eckhoff, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet brought back a bronze medal in the pursuit race this Sunday. This is his second podium in two days.

Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet offers this Sunday a fifth medal to the French team during these Biathlon Worlds.

After Emilien Jacquelin's victory earlier in the day, the biathlete climbed to the third step of the pursuit podium after winning the silver medal the day before in the sprint.

A performance that enabled him to start second, just twelve seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff, who also achieved the double.

The Norwegian misses in the first prone shot and has to go turn once on the penalty ring.

Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet, who achieved a nice 5/5, took control of the race after the first shot, with 17 seconds ahead of Eckhoff.

The roles are then reversed when Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet misses his last bullet on the lying down and Eckhoff catches his first shot with five targets blank this time.

With 18 seconds ahead, the Norwegian then has a good mattress on the Frenchwoman and her compatriot Roeiseland who comes back like a ball.

Eckhoff and Chevalier-Bouchet will come out together after the first standing shot, the Norwegian having missed a target but thanks to a better ski time and a quick shot limit the damage compared to the new perfect shot of the Frenchwoman.

More efficient on skis, Eckhoff returned on the last shot with a ten-second lead over Chevalier-Bouchet.

This time the five targets fall for the Norwegian who flies to a double after her victory in the sprint the day before.

Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet magnifies a bullet and sees an impressive Hauser fall on it.

The Austrian then puts the French on the skis.

The latter still manages to keep the gap on Dorothea Wierer, reigning world champion, author of one of the rare 20/20.

It was with a little more than 30 seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff that Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet crossed the line and could enjoy a second podium in as many races.

The other French women were rather disappointing.

Second Habs at the finish line, Julia Simon finished 22nd with a 15/20 almost three minutes behind the new world champion.

Next round of these world championships: the women's individual which will be held on Tuesday February 16 at 12:05 pm.
