Novak Djokovic managed to advance today (Sunday) to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

The Serb defeated Milos Raunic 6: 7 (4), 6: 4, 1: 6, 4: 6 and recorded his 600th career victory in the Grand Slam tournaments.

Djokovic, who has won the tournament eight times in the past and is looking for his ninth title win, suffered a stomach injury after being injured during the win over Taylor Fritz on Friday.

The Serb is in pain and said he has been taking painkillers since the injury: "My condition was good enough to play. Obviously I was not here, I would not be talking if I was not in good enough condition to give myself the opportunity to play."

Djokovic went on to say: "My situation is not ideal. I have not had too much preparation for this game and I have not hit a tennis ball since the victory against Fritz two days ago. I warmed up for a few hours and wanted to see what my situation was. If I was not ready, I would Retires, so I was in a cloud of doubt whether I would play or not.But it's a Grand Slam and at this stage of my career it's the most important thing in the world. There are four tournaments during the year where I give everything to compete. If it was any other tournament, I would not play. Because I've been taking painkillers for 48 hours, very strong, I do not know what damage has been done and could be done now even greater damage than has already been done. You can not control your body during a game, you go on every ball and do not think about whether you should Do it or not.

Whoever teased Djokovic again was Nick Kirius, who came up to his doubles match as he mimicked the Serbian celebrations at the end of his games even though there was no crowd in the stands of course.

Asked about these celebrations, Kirius said sarcastically: "I wanted to feel the love of the crowd, just trying to disperse the celebration. Everyone loves this celebration, it's very much loved. We just have a little fun. Novak doesn't like me and we both respect each other, but I I really don't like him either, so it's fun. "

Djokovic himself said of Kirius a few days ago: "I respect him on the pitch, I think he is a very talented guy. He has a very good game and he proved his quality when he defeated almost every player in the world. Off the field, I do not respect him and that's what Let me say about him
