Quite a few smiles were recorded among the people and players of Maccabi Tel Aviv, after the champion defeated Hapoel Holon 81: 100 tonight (Sunday) without too many difficulties.

The visitors came in a bit hunched over after dropping a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter of the Cup semi-final on Thursday, and fell far behind in the opening.

Despite the visitors' comeback attempts, and despite the fact that Dorsey and Sandy Cohen were sent off, the Dadas team did not really threaten the yellow victory, and is already counting six losses this season.

The two coaches were not calm during the game, with Dadas furious at his players while Sapropoulos slammed the board to the floor.

Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Yannis Sapropoulos said at the end: "The players were very mentally focused, we started the game very well offensively and defensively, we had a double-digit advantage, we kept them on a low score, and the way we played this game, we won. I'm glad Chris C. Venus played and I praised him in the locker room, it was not easy what he did, play after so much time and play like that. We played a lot of games in the local frame, I am satisfied with how we fight, we still meet all our goals, we won the Winner's Cup, the Cup final, "We are leading the league and fighting for promotion to the playoffs in the Euroleague. This is the most important stage of the season and we need to bring the maximum to succeed in most goals and perhaps in all of them. We will try hard to withstand everything."

The Yellows coach complimented his players: "Assistant Blazer played two amazing games, he was the X Factor again, Yuval was excellent in both games, Jondi was very good and managed the game, all the players performed great. I had the opportunity to give Scotty, Angie a rest. "Lou and Ante, I think all the players who came to play reacted very well. The problem was that Tyler was sent off too soon, I wanted him to play more and get into the rhythm. He will find it through training."

Stefanos Dadas: "We paid for lack of energy, everyone saw we were not in the same strength, maybe not the passion, we did not recover from the previous game. We had problems that came out of the previous game, Chris Johnson did not feel well during the game and it killed me during the game "They had 4 players who did not play on Thursday, and we could not stand up to their energy."

The Greek continued: "We were not the Holon you are used to seeing, and Sandy Cohen's threes were a factor, we cut the difference to 7-8, but no more than that. We had energy problems along with the fact that Maccabi were fresher. In every game I come "Intensely, at first I was calm even when we did not play well, but it is not possible over time. I did not expect Chris to leave the game, we had a problem with energy. The previous game had an effect at that level. If they had played with the same staff, maybe the situation would have been different."
