Title holder Alexis Pinturault was once again impressive by securing the second fastest time in the super-G combined at the World Alpine Skiing in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy) on Monday, placing himself ideally before the slalom round.
Super-G bronze medalist on Thursday, the Frenchman even allowed himself to beat the two-time world champion in speed (downhill and super-G) Vincent Kriechmayr of 22/100 (3rd) and the other Austrian Matthias Mayer of 24 / 100 (4th).
Sensation, the Canadian James Crawford, a speed specialist who started with the number 32, nabbed him the first place for 08/100.
Slalom at 3:20 p.m.
“It's a nice super-G, I tried to attack, the snow was pretty easy,” explained Pinturault.
I took a good bib on the 5th, I was the first to choose.
It's a good run for me, there is still the slalom, it will be tight anyway. ”
Other favorites have indeed managed an excellent super-G, in particular the best slalomer in the world at present, the Austrian Marco Schwarz, 5th at 40 / 100th, or the Swiss Loïc Meillard, 6th at 43 / 100th.
The slalom is scheduled for 3:20 p.m., just after the women's slalom.
