In the 2009/10 season Peiffer started at the

Biathlon World Cup

in Pyeongchang and finished third in the relay and mixed relay.

in the

overall World Cup

A difficult time followed after a fall in Presque Isle in 2017/16.

At the beginning of 2017, he did not make it into the top ten.

With the victory of the

Olympic gold medal in 2018

in the sprint and the bronze medal in the relay, he reached fourth place in the world rankings as the best German.
