The three lists were deemed admissible on Monday by the FFF's Electoral Operations Supervisory Commission.

There will ultimately be three lists for the next election for the presidency of the French Football Federation.

Meeting on Monday, the FFF's Electoral Operations Supervisory Commission validated those presented by Noël Le Graët, Michel Moulin and Frédéric Thiriez for the election to the executive committee to be held on March 13, 2021. The three lists will be submitted. to the vote during the elective Federal Assembly.

Due to an insufficient number of sponsorships, the list presented by Jean-Pierre Mapolin, who presents himself as a matches agent, was declared inadmissible.

Each candidate must obtain the sponsorship of ten members among the presidents of league, district, professional club and members of the High Authority of Football, according to federal regulations.

On March 13, the current boss of the FFF Noël Le Graët, in office since 2011 and big favorite to his own succession, will therefore face two other contenders: Frédéric Thiriez, former president of the Professional Football League, and Michel Moulin , entrepreneur and club advisor.

The three men will organize their campaign on the ground to meet the big voters of clubs, districts and regional leagues, but also professional clubs.

Amateurs represent 63% of the votes, and professionals 37%.

A new defection for Thiriez

If Le Graët were re-elected, the former internationals Brigitte Henriques and Laura Georges would be reappointed in their respective functions of deputy vice-president and general secretary within the executive committee of the FFF.

The post of general treasurer would go to Philippe Diallo, leader of the UCPF and Cosmos, according to the list published on the Federation's website.

Thiriez would be accompanied by ex-footballer Basile Boli, FC Nantes doctor Isabelle Salaun and ex-president of Toulouse (L2) Olivier Sadran for these three executive functions.

As for Moulin, he would be surrounded by the entrepreneur Jean-Bernard Falco, the business manager Jennifer Madiot and François Jacob, president of the Blois club (N2).

This beginning of the week was also marked by a new defection among the supposed supporters of Frédéric Thiriez.

Tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga denied on Monday having supported the former boss of the LFP, a new quack after the one concerning the former basketball player Tony Parker or the former world champion in the 110m hurdles Ladji Doucouré .
