Vincent Jackson, one of the top catchers in the NFL in the past decade, was found dead at a hotel in Florida on Monday at the age of 38. The Sheriff's Office in Florida, Florida, said there were no signs of trauma on the body, and the cause of death will be determined after medical crews check.



The hotel reported that Jackson, a resident of the state, registered as a guest on January 11 and has been there ever since. His family reported Wednesday that he was missing.



Jackson was selected by the San Diego Draft in 2005 and played for the Chargers for seven years, before moving to the Tampa Bay Bakers in 2012 and playing there until his retirement at the end of the 2016 season. He was selected three times for probation and recorded a total of 540 catches and 9,080 yards in his career With 57 touchdowns.



"The heart goes out to the Jackson family and to the Buckniers fans who adored him," the Hillsborough County Sheriff, Jackson's permanent residence, said in a statement, "He will be missed not only by the Buckniers fans but also by the Hillsborough residents for his contribution to the community."
