First publication: The chairman of the basketball league administration is positively considering continuing in the position until 2025, and according to sources on the board, his chances of being elected are high, among other things due to the success in managing the league during the Corona period.

Shmuel Frenkel is positively considering running for another term as chairman of the basketball Premier League administration, Israel Today has learned for the first time.
This July, Frenkel will complete two full terms as chairman of the administration, and several directors recently spoke with him and raised the possibility that he will continue for a third term in office. Frenkel replied that he is seriously considering the direction, Deloitte, including changing the way decisions are made and establishing a limited and professional body that will lead the administration as well as increasing the powers of the chairman.
To date, there has been no restriction on the term of office of the Chairman of the Administration, and therefore one of Deloitte's recommendations is to limit his term to three terms of four years each.
The administration is very pleased with the management of the complex year so far.
The Premier League is in fact one of the only ones in Europe to complete last season despite the Corona challenges, the brilliance with the Balkan League also caused the teams to continue training in all closures, and in addition so far individual Corona patients have been discovered and postponed a few games.
Also, as the recently released figures an absolute majority of the league’s players have already been vaccinated and therefore there is a high chance that the league will be completed as a series without further stops.
According to sources in the administration, it currently does not appear that another serious candidate will submit his candidacy for the position, and if Frenkel decides to apply, his chances of being elected for another term seem high.
