Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach has to find a new coach for the new season.

According to matching media reports, Marco Rose is said to have announced his departure at the end of the season on Monday.

"Kicker" and Bild-Zeitung had initially reported on this.

In the meantime, Gladbach has confirmed the departure of the trainer and also announced that Rose would like to move to Borussia Dortmund.

“We have had many conversations with each other over the past few weeks about Marco's future.

Unfortunately, he has now decided that he would like to make use of a clause in his contract that runs until June 2022 and switch to BVB in the summer, "said sports director Max Eberl.

The 44-year-old had a contract in Mönchengladbach until the summer of 2022, but Rose has been avoiding a clear commitment to his current club as well as a statement about a possible change for weeks.

Only last weekend, however, sports director Max Eberl confirmed an exit clause from the current contract.

Rose joined his current club from RB Salzburg in 2019.

During this time, Gladbach reached the round of 16 of the most important European Cup for the first time since 1978, when the Champions League was still known as the European Cup.

In the Bundesliga too, Borussia consolidated its place in the top group under Rose.

After finishing fourth in the previous season, Gladbach is currently in seventh place, four points behind a Champions League place.

On March 2nd (8.45pm) Gladbach receives BVB in the quarter-finals of the cup.
