Mathieu Faivre won the very first gold medal in the history of the parallel slalom event, for the first time in the World Championships, which take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy).

Already a bronze medalist in the combined on Monday, the Swiss Loïc Meillard completes the podium.

On the women's side, Tessa Worley finished third, beating American Paula Moltzan in the semi-final.

The skier from Grand-Bornand had failed in the semi-final against the Italian Marta Bassino, who won the title by beating the Austrian Katharina Liensberger in the final.
