Boston Celtics star Jason Taitum said he still suffers from corona symptoms even though it has been more than a month since he was found positive for the virus in a test he performed.
"I think it's a little difficult to breathe," Taitum said tonight (Tuesday) after the Celtics' training ahead of the game with Denver.
"I experienced a few games where I didn't want to say I really couldn't breathe, but I got tired faster than usual."
The forward added: "After a few side-to-side runs on the pitch, it's getting easier to be airless or tired a lot faster. I've noticed it since I got sick in Corona. It's something I'm working on. It got better after the first game I played, but I'm still dealing with it. Here and there".
Taitum, who is averaging 35.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 21 games this season, missed five games after contracting Corona in early January, in addition to a full week that the Celtics froze activity because they did not have enough active players.
Since returning on January 25, his numbers have dropped significantly from before the illness.
In the ten games before he was infected, he averaged 26.9 points on 47.4 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from the three.
In the 11 games since Taitum returned to play after the Corona, he has scored 24.5 points on 42.7 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from the three.
"It does not happen in every game and it is not that I feel it throughout the game," Taitum explained, "it is only in certain sections that breathing is a bit irregular and I talked to the medical and professional staff about it. It has been better since the first game when I came back to play. I guess it "It's a long process. I told the other friends about it and they said they also experienced similar things and that it gets better with time. But as long as we play, I guess it will take longer."
