FC Schalke 04 and sports director Jochen Schneider go their separate ways.
The miners officially announced this on Tuesday.

The contract with the 50-year-old will be terminated by mutual agreement in the summer, as the miners say.
"On Tuesday (February 16), the supervisory board reached an amicable agreement with the Sports & Communication board to terminate the contract by June 30, 2021," Schalke wrote on Twitter.
It is not yet officially known who will be the successor to Schneider, who only moved from RB Leipzig to Gelsenkirchen in March 2019.

The planning for the next season - probably in the 2nd division - will be taken over by "Eurofighter" Mike Büskens, who was previously responsible for players on loan and international activities, junior director Peter Knäbel and U19 coach Norbert Elgert.
The bottom of the Bundesliga table has not yet found a sports director who has been wanted for a long time and a successor for Schneider.
"The supervisory board agrees that fundamental changes in the sporting area are necessary in order to lead FC Schalke 04 out of the crisis and into a more successful future," said Jens Buchta, chairman of the supervisory board: "The principle applies to the restructuring of the licensed players department Thoroughness over speed.

Schneider, who took over the difficult successor to the resigned Christian Heidel in March 2019, admitted: "Unfortunately, especially in the past twelve months, we have not been able to implement what we set out to do almost two years ago." Domenico Tedesco was kicked out of four coaches shortly after taking office, admitted "wrong decisions that annoy me very much in retrospect".
Schalke have only won one of the last 37 Bundesliga games.
The gap to the relegation place is already nine points.
The fourth descent in the club's history is getting closer and closer.
