Munich - As a soccer fan, you always looked forward to the knockout phase in the Champions League.

But in times of Corona this is of course a little different.

Despite everything, DAZN expert Ralph Gunesch commented on the chances of the German teams.

Above all, he trusts one team to be a big surprise and explains what FC Bayern will have to prepare for against Lazio.

In addition, Gunesch demands a little more humility and gratitude for all the privileges in the soccer business.

Champions League during the corona crisis?

DAZN expert Gunesch demands - "Shift down half a gear"

Mr Gunesch, the Champions League will continue with the knockout phase on Tuesday.

Due to the corona situation, many games cannot take place in the respective countries, but are played on neutral ground.

For example, RB Leipzig is traveling to Budapest to play against Liverpool.

A difficult topic in the current time ...

Ralph Gunesch (DAZN):

I don't want to go into too much detail now, but I would like football and the people who have commented on the subject in the past few days, their immense luxury situation and their unbelievable Are privilege aware.

Maybe it would be better to show a little more gratitude and humility in this context.

Because the privileges that football enjoys in society in our current situation are enormous.

When the Bundesliga continued in May, there was a lot of talk of humility and gratitude.

At the moment you may have got used to the privileges a little too much, which is why I cannot understand certain statements.

They arise from a point of view that does not fit what the life of a normal citizen currently looks like.

I would therefore like to see people shift down half a gear again.

Maybe you should call yourself back to what it means to be able to practice your profession in Europe or even worldwide at the present time - and that almost completely without restrictions and under all conditions

Let's get to the sporting side: How do you rate the German clubs' chances of reaching the quarter-finals?

Gunesch:

I would say completely different.

At Borussia Mönchengladbach in particular, Manchester City was delighted with the draw at the beginning of December.

Similar to the group draw for Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

Maybe eight weeks ago you figured out even greater chances.

But ManCity is currently a crazy board and has celebrated 15 wins in a row.

A lot should come together in two games, even if I really think Gladbach are strong

It looks exactly the opposite at RB Leipzig against Liverpool ...

Gunesch:

Absolutely.

After the draw in December, Leipzig swallowed at first.

In the meantime, Liverpool has been caught in a mental and personal state in which one can definitely work out something.

The self-confidence of the Reds is currently not the greatest, there is definitely something in it.

But of course, it is still a difficult task.

Especially since RB was not always able to convince lately.

Champions League: Gunesch does not believe in BVB - Sevilla "one step further"

Let's get to BVB.

Despite the change of coach from Lucien Favre to Edin Terzic, things are currently looking anything but good.

How do you rate their chances against Sevilla FC?

Gunesch:

Before I come to BVB, I have to praise the Andalusians first!

Anyone who loves football should watch the Sevilla FC games.

It's really, really fun.

Julen Lopetegui's team plays wonderfully well-groomed and successful football.

With Ivan Rakitic you have got a really hot gamer who has a lot of international experience.

You just like to watch the team play football

So it's going to be difficult for BVB?

Gunesch:

I estimate Borussia Dortmund's chances of 45 percent.

The Andalusians are perhaps one step further internationally because they benefit extremely from their existing structure.

BVB has only reinvented itself in the past two or three years, with the many, young and extremely talented players like Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Giovanni Reyna.

In Seville they are more stable in this regard, which could ultimately be the decisive factor

FC Bayern versus Lazio Rome: Gunesch reveals how to beat the Italians

Should Dortmund fail in the round of 16, the air for Edin Terzic could not be thin again ...

Gunesch:

I don't think that BVB will work again in this regard.

Even if you were to be thrown out without a sound.

A lot would have to go wrong

And finally to FC Bayern.

We talked about Lazio in the first part of our interview.

Gunesch:

Sure, I see Bayern at the front.

Lazio have a good team, they have a good offensive.

But you know that at Bayern.

You will know how to defend Ciro Immobile and take Sergej Milinkovic-Savic out of the game.

It will be exciting to see how seriously the Bavarians approach the matter.

I don't mean that they could underestimate the Romans, but rather that they want to show how much they want to go in which direction.

If they show that November-December face a little, Lazio will punish them
