The Frenchman Maxence Muzaton put Andreas Sanders silver a bit in the shade at the World Ski Championships.

Felix Neureuther was completely enthusiastic about the acrobatic flight.

Cortina d'Ampezzo - Maxence Muzaton provided the highlight at this World Ski Championships with an acrobatic rescue operation.

The Frenchman was initially able to prevent a fall.

ARD expert Felix Neureuther was completely stunned.

Ski World Cup: Muzaton shows a spectacular 180 ° turn and drives backwards

Andreas Sander celebrated his greatest success with his second place in the downhill on Sunday.

After Kira Weidle in the downhill and Romed Baumann in the Super-G, the DSV team already booked the third silver medal at the World Ski Championships.

But Maxence Muzaton stole the show from the Westphalian Sander.

The Frenchman had nothing to do with the outcome of the race.

On the descent, the 30-year-old did not even reach the finish line - nevertheless, he created one of the craziest scenes of the World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Shortly after take-off, Muzaton stumbled at more than 100 kilometers per hour, tilted, took off briefly and turned in the air.

He lost control, everything looked like a serious fall - but Muzaton surprised everyone and suddenly transformed the momentum into a twist.

He got back on the ski and then slid backwards at high speed a few meters before the momentum turned him again and he suddenly went straight again.

Ski World Cup: Felix Neureuther celebrates Muzaton insert

“What kind of thing was that!” Said the former ski racer Felix Neureuther as an expert on ARD.

He compared Muzaton to a ski freestyler and quipped: “Look at this wonderful 180.

He might have built a grave in between. ”To hold on to the skis with his hands during the acrobatic number, the Frenchman certainly didn't get the idea in a split second.

“Crazy, that's the picture of this World Cup,” said Neureuther.

For Muzaton, however, his stunt also had a serious note: The Frenchman has probably torn a cruciate ligament.

The descent also ended painfully for DSV ace Romed Baumann.

The silver medal winner of the Super-G had slipped away after crossing the finish line and slipped under the barrier.

The 35-year-old suffered a concussion and he also suffered cuts to his mouth and nose.
