Novak Djokovic is in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
The Serb prevailed in the quarterfinals in four sets against the German tennis professional Alexander Zverev 6: 7, 6: 2, 6: 4, 7: 6.
Djokovic converted his second match point in the tie-break.
In the semifinals he will meet the Russian qualifier Aslan Karazew.
Zverev also missed the ninth attempt to beat a player in the top ten in a major tournament for the first time.
Last year the world number seven had reached the round of the last four in Australia, at the US Open he even made it into the final for the first time.
He lost each time against the Austrian Dominic Thiem.
Djokovic, whose abdominal muscle problems did not significantly limit, continues his hunt for the ninth title in Melbourne and the 18th Grand Slam triumph.
He has set himself the goal of catching up with the major record winners Roger Federer (Switzerland) and Rafael Nadal (Spain / both 20 titles) - Nadal is also still in the tournament.
