On his 34th birthday, Eliran Atar appeared today (Wednesday) in the court of the Football Association and received a suspension from three actual games and three more on probation.
As will be recalled, Atar hit the face of Lamak Benda, a Maccabi Netanya player, and was then sent off with a red card.
He has already missed the game against Maccabi Haifa, so he is left to want the penalty in tomorrow's rematch against Bnei Sakhnin and in the cup game against Hapoel Acre.
Except for the actual penalty, Atar will face a suspended sentence of one year of exclusion from three games, for each repeated conviction for the offense of injuring an opposing player.
