Manchester United on the move, Young Boys and Rangers madly

2021-02-18T22:25:19.816Z

Manchester United, Roma and Tottenham held their rank on Thursday in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League. Two crazy matches: Young Boys from Berne-Bayer Leverkusen and Royal Antwerp-Rangers.

After the Champions League Tuesday and Wednesday, it's time for the Europa League this Thursday.

Unlike the C1, where we are in the 8th, it is the 16th finals that are on the menu, and in this case the first leg.

After the draw between Kiev and Bruges (1-1), a first salvo of eight matches at 6:55 p.m.

We will notably remember the cardboard victory of Manchester United against Real Sociedad in… Turin (0-4).

A match - not the only one - relocated because of Covid-19.

Double from Bruno Fernandes and goals from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James in favor of the Red Devils, in (very) favorable waivers before the return match, in a week ... Without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, substitute, but with a penalty from French Theo Hernandez, the Milan was hooked on the field of Red Star Belgrade (2-2) on a goal by the so-called Milan Pavkov in the 93rd minute of play, the Serbs having yet finished the meeting at ten.

The Spurs of Jose Mourinho for their part filled up against the Austrians of Wolfsberger (1-4), with in particular a goal from the former Parisian Lucas.

Note the precious success of Roma in Braga (0-2) and Leicester's draw against Slavia Prague (0-0).

Last but not least, a totally crazy match in Bern, with Leverkusen who erased a disbursement of three goals to return to 3-3, thanks in particular to an achievement by Moussa Diaby.

The Young Boys made the decision in the 89th minute by former Rennais Jordan Siebatcheu (4-3).

Note that the French colony of Olympiakos shone, during the victory of the Greek club over PSV Eindhoven (4-2).

A decisive pass for Mathieu Valbuena and goals signed by Yann M'Vila and Youssef El Arabi.

Seven matches then started at 9 p.m., including the one concerning LOSC.

And the leaders in the Ligue 1 standings fell against Ajax (1-2).

A defeat as cruel in view of the scenario as it is logical, in view of the whole meeting ... In the other six matches, we have in particular the one that opposed two big names in European football, Benfica and Arsenal.

No winner in this part, with Bukayo Saka who responded to Pizzi's opening scoring from the penalty spot (1-1).

Yangel Herrera and Kenedy meanwhile capsized Naples and offered the victory to Granada (2-0) in two minutes (19th and 21st).

Donetsk and Villarreal are among the winners of the day.

The Rangers too.

The Glasgow club had the last word against Antwerp (3-4) thanks to goals from Ryan Kent (83rd) and Borna Barisic (90th, sp) at the very end of the game, after the expulsion of Abdoulaye Seck in the Belgian ranks.

No winner between Molde and Hoffenheim (3-3).

With the exception of Tottenham Hotspur-Wolfsberger AC, on February 24, all return matches will be played in one week, on Thursday, February 25.
