Felix Neureuther caused a sensation as an ARD expert at the Ski World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The former slalom star called the race director live on TV to complain.

Munich / Cortina d'Ampezzo - Felix Neureuther naturally polarizes.

He does this through his relaxed and self-confident manner and did this already during his active time in ski racing.

Of course, the former slalom world champion is also in the focus as an ARD expert.

On Wednesday you can again admire your skills at the team event.

At the World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Neureuther impressed with his emotional nature as a co-commentator and as an expert in post-race analysis.

But now an action by the 36-year-old caused a sensation live on TV.

Visibly upset, Neureuther tried to call race director Markus Waldner during the World Cup parallel event * in Cortina d'Ampezzo on Tuesday.

But when he did not answer, Neureuther wrote him a message to complain.

But what was the reason?

Ski World Cup: strange action!

Felix Neureuther calls the race director - live on TV

Neureuther, a justice fanatic through and through, found the course too slow in the Dolomites!

To explain: In the parallel format, the athletes race against each other twice, each once on each course.

Basically, the times are then added up and the faster one continues.

But if you fall in the first run or accumulate a deficit that is too great, the time does not go on forever, but stops at 0.50 seconds.

Half a second is the maximum lag before the second run.

Because the second course was now much slower, so you sometimes lost more than half a second, the athletes who had to drive on that part of the track in the decisive run were at a disadvantage.

That upset Neureuther.

And FIS boss Waldner replied by his own account and told Neureuther that a change of course was not possible and that he also considered the race to be fair.

But he couldn't really appease Neureuther ...
