"OM does not fall into line, it does not go to bed": after politicians, ex-players and artists in support of supporters

Many personalities with a link with the Marseille city and its club have signed a platform to support the action of OM supporters opposed to the policy of its leaders.


Jean Tigana, Manuel Amoros, IAM, Faf Larage or Jean-Pierre Foucault: after the policies on Monday, a hundred Marseille personalities, ex-players, artists, journalists or associative activists, signed a platform on Friday in support of supporters of the OM facing the management of the Olympian club.

"OM does not fit in a football club": in this text, published in the daily La Provence and notably written by the novelist Jean-Paul Delfino, the president of the club Jacques-Henri Eyraud and its American owner Frank McCourt are clearly in the crosshairs, three weeks after the serious incidents at the Commanderie training center, invaded by 300 angry supporters.

"OM is its own legend, it cannot be bought, (...) OM does not fit into a project", let loose the three authors of the text, in reference to the "Champions Project" carried by the management since the arrival of Mr. McCourt at the head of the club in 2015.

Monday, it is the local elected officials who had mounted in defense of the supporters, with in particular the invitation of the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan to Mr. Eyraud to "calm things down" with the fans of the club.

The clubs of Olympian supporters should in turn hold a joint press conference on Friday, to respond to the club and its "formal notice".

Next week, Wednesday, before the Marseille Criminal Court, there will be the trial of the 14 OM supporters arrested in the heart of the Commandery during the incidents of November 30, before the match against Rennes, finally postponed.
